The Lily-of-the-valley, Convallaria majalis, is well-known as a garden plant.
However, this photo was taken at an elevation of about 2000 ft. along the Smith Mountain ridge in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. There in the woodlands a large colony of these lilies is evident during May–June.
