This Pittsylvania County hiking crew was challenged by a hike up a mountain which was totally covered by an icy glaze. Slipping and sliding was par for the course; in fact, one individual slid from one path level down to a lower level so fast that we didn't miss him until he yelled out to the forward leaders. Fortunately, no one was injured. Occasionally, at higher elevations during drizzling rain, conditions may be such that a thin layer of ice covers the landscape; this was one of those days.
